Welcome to the Sustainable Revolution

Sustainable revolution

What is Sustainability?

The ability to meet all the needs of humans on earth, without limiting the same needs and benefits of future generations.

What is Recyclable?

It is an alternative to “conventional” waste disposable that can save material and help lower greenhouse gas emissions.  Recyclable items can be “re-purposed” into a new product or item.

What is Biodegradable?

A biodegradable product or item will breakdown into small micro-particles, but just because it is “biodegradable” does not mean it is fully compostable.  Biodegradable products could contain toxins or contaminants.

What is Compostable?

Waste material that will completely breakdown, NATURALLY, in a reasonable amount of time leaving no trace of toxicity and making usable soil.

Compost

Facts on Plastic

Only 9% of ALL plastic products have been recycled since 1970.

Depending on the type of plastic, it may not be recyclable.

Plastic IS NOT biodegradable or compostable.

Plastic is made from petroleum oil.

Plastic contains cancer causing carcinogens.

Plastic trash is found in more than 90% of the world’s seabirds, sea turtles and whales.

C02 emissions

Facts on CO2 Emissions

The largest storer of CO2 is the world’s OCEANS, the second largest are trees.

A single fully matured tree can store 600-700lbs of CO2.

Plankton, the most populous ocean organism, is being killed by climate change, releasing CO2 into the atmosphere.

Deforestation, which is the clearing of forest is one of the main contributors to CO2 emissions.
